核生成のメカニズムの研究 (クラスター生成,気泡核生成,結晶核生成)

 核生成現象は相変化現象の初期過程におこる重要な現象であり,霧等のエアロゾル生成現象, 沸騰現象や空洞現象(キャビテーション),結晶化などのプロセスを理解するうえでも重要な研究課題です.  核生成現象における研究方法として,古典核生成理論をはじめとする理論研究や実験研究が盛んに行われてきましたが, 実験結果を説明できる理論はいまだ存在しません.

 近年のコンピュータ性能の向上と共に分子動力学シミュレーションを用いた研究が行われるようになってきました. しかし,これらのシミュレーションから得られる結果と,古典核生成理論から見積もられる核生成速度は大きく異なります.

 泰岡研究室では,シミュレーション結果を解析することにより既存の理論の問題点を明らかにし,新たな理論の構築を目指しています. 特に本研究では,気相からの液相核生成(クラスター生成),液相からの気相核生成(気泡生成),液相からの固相核生成(結晶核生成)の現象を対象としています.さらにタンパク質間で発生する気泡生成(タンパク質同士がくっつく時に周りの水分子が排除される現象)などについても研究を行っています.
